Expand member opportunities within ALA.
Many members want to play a meaningful role within ALA’s structure and be a part of the transformation of those structures. I will work with the divisions and roundtables on ideas for engaging new and interested members in ALA activities. In addition, I will work to provide conference scholarships so that the financial support needed for members to be able to experience the benefits of Midwinter Meetings and Annual Conferences on-site is available.
Building on efforts already underway with the current ALA President, I will work to develop the “rich tapestry” of virtual opportunities so that every member can have a “voice” and take advantage of the wealth of talent and experience of our members.
